Insignia Description
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess Gules and Argent an arrow palewise barbed with a fleur-de-lis between four fleurs-de-lis all counterchanged. Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "PROVEN PIONEERS" in Red letters.

Symbolism
Scarlet and white (silver) are the colors used for the Corps of Engineers. The arrow barbed with a fleur-de-lis symbolizes the unit's participation in the assault landing on Normandy. The organization's other four campaigns in Europe during World War II are represented by the four fleurs-de-lis.

History
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 27 June 1955.
