Insignia Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02cm) in height overall consisting of a purple enamel globe with gold gridlines in front of a green enamel wreath of olive branches all surmounted by a vertical unsheathed sword, point up, with white enamel blade and gold hilt, in base a white blue bordered enamel diamond-shaped figure, major axis horizontal, all above a semi-circular gold scroll folded back at each end and inscribed "ADVICE AND ASSIST" in black letters, areas between diamond, wreath and scroll pierced.

Symbolism
Purple and white are colors used for Civil Affairs. The globe refers to the group's global capabilities. The olive branches, symbolic of peace, with the sword allude to the unit's mission to maintain civil order and to support combat and post combat phases of military operations. The diamond was suggested by the State flag of Arkansas representing the group's home area in Arkansas.

History
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 20 Sep 1971.
