Overview
The 100th Division (IT) is headquartered in Fort Knox, KY and includes eight reservist brigades in four states (Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee). During World War I, it was the 100th Infantry Division. From 1946 to 1952, it was the 100th Airborne Division and a part of the US Army Reserve. For a short period after, until 1955, it reverted to the 100th Infantry Division before being changed to the 100th Division (Replacement Training). Four years later, in 1956, it became the 100th Division (Institutional Training).

Brief History
The 100th was constituted in 1918 but did not deploy to the European theater before the end of World War I. The 100th was reactivated on November 15, 1942 and served in World War II in three campaigns: the Ardennes-Alsace (Battle of the Bulge), the Central Europe, and the Allied Advance from Paris to the Rhine (Rhineland Campaign). It saw over 160 days of combat and earned seven Distinguished Unit Citations. Personnel from the 100th earned three Medals of Honor, nine Distinguished Service Crosses, and 560 Silver Stars. They returned to the United States on January 10, 1946.

Following the war and in subsequent conflicts, the 100th's mission has been to teach Army personnel various skill sets. The 100th helped to rebuild Fort Chaffee, AK and became the first Army Reserve formation to be equipped with M1 Abrams main battle tanks. The 100th now administers and operates a six-week ROTC summer Basic Camp, Operation Future Challenge.
