Insignia Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in width overall consisting of a black enamel liquid globule between two red enamel electric flashes in front of a Quartermaster wheel (blue enamel with thirteen gold stars and thirteen gold spokes) all beneath an arched blue enamel scroll bearing the inscription "LIFE LINE TO VICTORY" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The black globule symbolizes "Petroleum," and alludes to the organization's mission to provide storage, distribution and quality surveillance of petroleum to supported units. The Quartermaster wheel with its thirteen (13) stars and spokes are symbolic of the battalion's Quartermaster heritage and also depicts the transportation (movements of packaged and bulk petroleum) mission of the battalion. The two red flashes refer to the Battalion's service in World War II in France and Germany.

History
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 15 Feb 1967.
