Overview
The 121st Signal Battalion is part of the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. The motto, "TO PARON EY POIEIN" means "Do well the duty that lies before you" and the Corps Colors are orange and white. The unit crest features a white fleur-de-lis and an orange Spanish castle. The castle symbolizes the unit's service in the Spanish-American war. The fleur-de-lis symbolizes the units service in World War I. The unit crest was redesignated for the 121st Signal Battalion on January 8th, 1958.

Brief History
The 121st was created on July 1st, 1916 as a Signal Corpse battalion in the Regular Army and consisted of several existing field companies of Signal Corps. The 121st served in the Spanish-American war in the Puerto Rico campaign and later in six campaigns in World War I (including Lorraine and Picardy in 1918). In World War II, the 121st Signal Battalion was involved in Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, the Allied Advance to the Rhine, the Ardennes-Alsace campaign, and the Central Europe campaign.

The 121st served in Vietnam in the Defense phase, as well as phase II through VI Counteroffensives, including the Tet Counteroffensive. Their service to the nation continued into the Gulf War with teh Defense of Saudi Arabia and the Liberation and Defense of Kuwait.

For it's service in Europe, the 121st Signal Battalion earned a Presidential Unit Citation. It also earned a Meritorious Unit Commendation for the European Theater, three Meritorious Unit Commendations for Vietnam, and two Army Superior Unit Awards. The unit was presented with three French Croix de Guerre for it's service in World War I, and two for it's service in World War II. It was cited twice for the Belgian Fourragere in 1940. In Vietnam, it was awarded the Cross of Gallantry and the Civil Action Honor Medal, First Class.
