Beret Flash Description
On a dark green shield-shaped embroidered item with a semicircular base 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in height by 1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width overall edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) silver gray border, three conjoined 1/8 inch (.32cm) diagonal bands from upper left to lower right white over black over purple.

History
The beret flash was approved on 23 February 1996. It was amended on 29 November 2006, to authorize wear by Special Forces qualified personnel not in Special Forces unit and 18 CMF not in Special Forces positions.
