Insignia Description
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend Tenné and Azure, a bend wavy double cottised potent counter-potent Argent. Attached below the shield a silver scroll inscribed "COMMAND CONTROL" in black letters.

Symbolism
Orange and white are colors traditionally associated with Signal Corps. The wavy diagonal band, representing the Rhine River, refers to the Battalion's participation in campaigns in the Central European area. Blue and the patterned bands flanking the central band are taken from the Arms of Ardennes. The "potent" pattern also represents telegraph poles and refers to the unit's signal function.

History
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved on 21 Dec 1962. It was amended on 4 Mar 1992 to revise the description and symbolism.
